DW just sent me this and posted it over at elitaste. College students - beg your event staff to book this show! Speaks for itself, too.
VIDEO: will.i.am - It's A New Day
I just made a long-winded post about this video, but I lost it because Blogger won't let me be signed in on two accounts. Whatever...long story short: people thought will.i.am fell off after Fergie joined BEP? Well, see his solo album Songs About Girls for proof that that just ain't true. I loved what he did for Obama during the months leading up to the election; he kept it extremely clean and positive. Here's a victory video featuring cameos from Kanye West, Kevin Bacon, & will.i.am.a.hologram (thanks, eskay.)
VIDEO: S.O.T.L. - A Moment in History
This is only the beginning of the footage, courtesy of S.O.T.L., that came from Funkadelic Freestyles: The Political Report Election Night Special. I finished uploading all the audio from the show and sent it off to illRoots and Dub Floyd last night (while Hallway Jay kept me entertained), which means you should see a mixtape VERY soon. X.O., Benji, Toney and I went back and listened to the ciphers again last night and wow...HISTORY. Oh, and you know we have a black president now, right? CHANGE.GOV and this official Flickr page from Chicago, Ill. (Props go to fwmj on that one.)
PODCAST: Che Grand - FF EGU Premiere
We began election night with a rapper who has SOME ties to the DMV, but currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Che Grand continues to grind as an artist on a mission and has steadily been picking up support over the past few months. I convinced him to head down to DC for election night (or was it his suggestion?). Che showed up 15 minutes early with FF co-host Vex Blizzy and Che's cousin(who happens to be a producer) in tow. We premiered a buncha joints off his upcoming album Everything's Good Ugly; including the intro "Bless'd" and the certified hit "Chateau Gold." Now I've got the podcast - enjoy, share around, and be sure to pick up Che's new mixtape Breakfast @ Wimbeldon over at Shake & Meka's.
DOWNLOAD: D.Omen - The Duncecap EP
I've been so busy lately that I haven't gotten around to posting this yet. I figure I should provide some linkage since D.Omen technically premiered it on my show the other night, lol. Shout out to Pro'Verb, G*Two, & Marky for the DMV SLU remix. And you thought the beat was played out... (P.S. I'm on hiatus so don't expect posts until tomorrow night at the earliest. I'm on my Amanda Bassa right now.)
MP3: Marky - American Dream
I'll be real quick with this one: we premiered this last night on the election night show right after Obama picked up the W. It was an epic premiere with Marky in-studio to introduce it. Everything is still sinking in from last night; I experienced one of the greatest moments of my life with a wonderful group of people. I hope you were listening - if not, there's a illRoots x Dub Floyd x Funkadelic Freestyles mixtape on the way! Pictures, videos, and a full recap is also on the way. Shout out to KNOWxONE for the CRUCIAL link.

MP3: Zo! & Asylum 7 - Gotta Live (feat. Asheru)
I have to interrupt my election night posting for this fresh new track from Zo! & Detroit emcee Asylum 7. I warned you about their new album a week or so ago, but now it's time to leak the first single. "Gotta Live" features DC emcee and The ELs member Asheru. I remember hearing this beat back in April, but when I got to listen the album two weeks ago, this was the one song Zo! forgot to play! Share it, spread it, support quality hip hop. Zo! & Asylum 7's Overdue Process will be available for purchase on December 16th.

VIDEO: The Real - The Night Before November 4th
After a one week hiatus, Jeff and Eric are back on the eve of election night. Dare I say the end is...heart-warming? Pause?
DOWNLOAD: RAtheMC - A Trip to Neptune (Mixed by DJ M.A.F.)
I mentioned it last week with Judah's crucial heads-up, but now I bring you the new full EP from RAtheMC, A Trip to Neptune. Mixed by DJ M.A.F., this is an 8 song EP with a bonus track that I've had my hands on for a few days now (shout out to G*Two). What's the theme? Well, take a look at the name and perhaps you'll be able to hypothesize the concept. (Hint: "What planet are you from?") This is an official Strange Music release that dropped with perfect timing (1 day before the ELECTION NIGHT SHOW) so we'll have something to talk about tomorrow night. Download is below!
PICTURES: FF 021 - Nando. (feat. Lyriciss)
The rest are coming to my Flickr account later this week. Peace to the number photog out, Ajani Truth. Just a preview of the visuals you can expect tomorrow night.
MP3: D.Omen - Vote OR...
D.Omen was feeling a bit political (FOR SOME VERY OBVIOUS REASONS), so he finally dropped the full version of his song "Vote OR..." featuring Senator Barack Obama. Produced by Prophecy and featured on The Duncecap EP, available for download on November 4th via KNOWXONE and illroots.
DOWNLOAD: Reks - Coast 2 Coast Exclusive Series Vol. 1
The Massachusetts (or Miami?) emcee Reks is back with some semi-new material following the summer release of his LP, Grey Hairs. This one's a mixtape featuring some songs you've probably heard before ("Pray For Me,"Money on the Ave," & "Say Goodnight") along with a few new joints from Statik Selektah's album and a couple exclusive freestyles (hence the mixtape title). I spoke to Reks last week and he assured me that More Grey Hairs, the semi-sequel to the first, will be out very soon. And for you folks out in my area (DC/MD/VA), Reks will be here sometime around mid-November - and yes, he'll be in studio. Props to 2db for the link.
